One Plus 8 Series Is Much Cheaper In India Than In The US!!

Updated: Jun 29, 2020

OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro India prices have made a blockbuster entry in the Indian Market with a surprise for the Indian Netizens with a price offering much affordable. But in the US the prices in India are making OnePlus fans complain!!

Highlights

  • OnePlus 8 series in the US starts at a price of $699.

  • In India, the prices of the iPhone 8 series phones start from Rs 41,999

  • In the case of top variant OnePlus 8 Pro, the difference between the US and the Indian prices is little over $215.

Since years there has been a complaint from Indian users of iPhone being way cheaper in the US than in India. But now there has been a reversal in the case. Now, the US media and users are complaining and writing about how there has been a significant gap in the pricing of the OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro in the US and that in India. Now it seems that the ball is in our court!

The OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro prices are way cheaper than the expected price range. While some geeks even stated that the Pro variant price would exceed the limit of Rs. 60,000/-

but the company said it not to fast. The company said that for India's price people should wait to tweet on their twitter handle, “We don’t speak in dollars!!”

The prices of the Oneplus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro were dropped on Sunday night with a tweet, “Even lesser to spend #OnePlus8Series starting from ₹41,999 MRP”. Where the price was stated to be Rs. 41,999 for the 6GB variant in comparison with the base variant in the US which costs $699 (although this one comes with 8GB RAM). While the 8 GB variant in the US costs $699 while priced at Rs 44,999 which still makes a marginal gap of $100.

Moving on to the OnePlus 8 12 GB variant which is priced at Rs 49,999/- way cheaper by $150 than the price in the US.

Similarly, the OnePlus 8 Pro starts from $899 in the US while from Rs 54,999/- in India, way cheaper by almost $180. The OnePlus 8 Pro 12 GB RAM 128 GB variant comes at $999 slashing to Rs 59,999/- in India.

It is quite often that many smartphones are way cheaper in the US than in India but companies like OnePlus, Xiaomi & Realme have reversed the trend. This all possible because of local manufacturing in India, lower margins, tighter supply chains, and a more frugal distribution network where the credit goes to the Government for encouraging FDI.

The other example of smartphone price variation comes from the iPhone where the iPhone SE 2020 starts at $399 in the US while in India it costs Rs 42,500 making a difference of Rs 11,000/-. But for now, they're a “Reversal Of Fortune!!”

But still, it will be interesting to see how the OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro manages to withstand and make significant sales in these turbulent clouds of Coronavirus Pandemic.
